Beard Growing Mistakes

It is time to talk about beard growth and what you should avoid when it comes to growing a luscious beard.

I hear it all the time: “I can’t grow a beard. Trust me, I’ve tried”.

Well trust us, you can. Here are our top beard growing mistakes and how to avoid them. We are confident you will be rocking the beard of your dreams in no time.

Give it TIME – be PATIENT!

Time and patience work hand in hand when It comes to everything in life.

On average beards grow about a half-inch per month. Keep in mind, that your beard may grow slower or faster depending on genetics, and not all parts of your beard will grow at the same rate. Initially, some areas will begin to look full while others appear patchy and dry.

It’s at this point that some men give up, thinking they don’t have the genetics to grow a full beard.(I hear this all the time when talking to customers at local markets) The reality is that this part of your beard is simply developing slower than the rest. Men’s beards continue to develop into their 30s. In your twenties and still, have a patchy beard? Not to worry, you have yet to reach your full beard potential. Regardless of age, we recommend guys dedicate a full three months to grow their beard.

Let it GROW….but don’t forget to TRIM IT!

Yes, you need to let it grow but keep in mind that even in the early stages, you need to trim your beard. Different parts of your beard grow at different rates. After about a month of growth, an untrimmed beard will begin to look unbalanced. Trimming the longer parts down will help reduce the appearance of a patchy beard as the slower growth areas catch up. If you got a clipper, then the job is easy – trim the ends and balance the beard to make it look fuller. You can start shaping more as your beard transitions from stubble to a fuller beard.

DON’T shampoo your beard EVERY DAY.

Yes, you read it right – DO NOT shampoo and condition your beard every day. Wash your beard every day with water when washing your face but don’t shampoo it, only shampoo and condition the beard 1-2 times per week. Using Hairy Man Care’s 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner will not only cleanse your beard, but it will also moisturize your skin and add that shine to your beard.

DO NOT let your beard go thirsty.

Most beard-related problems, including itch and dandruff, are easily remedied with proper hydration. Hairy Man Care’s Beard Oils and Beard Butter was designed for that very purpose. While beard oils are wonderful for softening longer beards, a beard butter treats skin conditions that beard oils simply cannot address. Our advice is to use the beard butter first, massage it into the skin and then use a beard oil for that amazing shine!

FOCUS on YOURSELF

Every MAN is unique, and so are our BEARD. Be confident in who you are and the beard you grow. In the end, your facial hair is a representation of you and your personality. Do what makes you happy and do not bother comparing yourself to others.
